Tiny Red Spider on my bed
I'm freaked out as I found a tiny red spider on my bedspread this afternoon. What the heck is it? I'm freaking out! Just so happens my left leg was itching so bad today that I finally put benedryl cream on it and it helped. I'm hoping it was just a tiny spider that got on my 2.5 lb. Yorkie who shares a bed with me. Someone please help before I drag my mattress in the backyard and burn it!

If it was really, REALLY tiny (like the size of a period in a novel), then maybe it was a chigger. They look like tiny red spiders, and their bites really itch for a couple of days. If so, it more than likely hitchhiked in on your yorkie as you suspected.

Otherwise, it was probably just a small spider or a red spider-mite. It could have come in on your dog or may just happen to have lived inside your house/apartment (it's pretty much impossible to keep spiders out, as I'm sure you know).

Either way, there's not really anything I'm aware of matching your description that will infest your mattress or anything like that. If you "disposed" of it, you shouldn't need to feel too creeped out when you lie down to go to sleep. ;)
