Where are the filters located on carrier fx4c?
I can not locate the filters on this model. Does anyone know where they are located? I have gone through the paper work that was left with the unit and it doesn't have anything about it.

The filters could be in a lot of places. Where was the old one located? The filter is usually located at there heater on the return side. Sometimes they are located inside the front access panel or in a small slide box with a cover. In other cases, mine for example, they are located in the cold air returns. I'd start with removing the lower front panel.

I have not found the old ones if there were ever old ones put in it. This is a new house and new units. I can't find anywhere on the units themselves where they are located.

Check the cold air returns. Newer homes have central units, 24X24 or some other similar configuration. Look for small pull tabs that allow the front to open. The filter pops in-make sure to follow the arrows for the air flow.
