I noticed yesterday my super active 1yr old female cat was sleeping a lot.
She is an indoor/outdoor cat and does not use a litterbox. I am not sure if she
Has eaten but she is very vocal when hungry. I noticed her the next morning just
Sitting and acting lethargic. I picked her up and did not see any wounds. She is
A fighter and goes at it with a neighborhood cat to defend her backyard. I took her outside and she started
To eat some grass. What do you think?

I am concerned because she is "sometimes" an outdoor cat AND a fighter. I'm sure you know outdoor cats, even semi-outdoor cats, have remarkably short life spans due to illness, accidents, fights with other cats, poisoning (someone in my area last year poisoned a large number of cats for some unknown reason).

She could have an upset stomach from just about anything; she could have a virus; she might need to see a Vet.

She is "probably" eating grass to settle her stomach.

You know her and her usual behavior. Is it time to see a Vet?

    Hi Judy,
No it isn't time yet to see her vet. She just lapped up about 6oz of chicken broth. I am keeping a very close watch. We do live next to an abandoned building and the city sprayed weed killer a few days ago. Could this be a factor? I would think they are not allowed to use chemicals that could harm animals. If it weren't Sunday I would not hesitate to bring her in to see our vet. I feel better now that she has some broth in her. Thanks.

You never know what chemicals are beign used. I took a very active part in NY in an attempted ban of pesticides as well as a neighbor notification program. 99% of the people using the sprays didn't comply and there was no manpower to enforce the law.

I think I'd keep her hydrated, keep a close watch on her and see how she is tomorrow - which sounds exactly like what you are doing without my advice.

Come back and let me know how she is - ?
