My cat Emily will be two years old June 28 2011 which is a month away, she hisses and growls at anyone who gets too close to her and she has to be with me or in the same room as me when I am home. My problem is when I am home and I have visitors, she will hiss and growl at whoever is next to me, Emily has made my visitors sit on the other couch while I have a whole couch to myself so Emily can lay next to me, it is getting annoying, HELP!

It may be getting annoying, but emily has a jealousy issue and cats do what cats do. I won't say they are untrainable but we cat lovers know we have to work around their foibles. Fear probably is her driving force; was she perchance a barn cat?
