    20 days of menstruation
Hi. I'm 21 years of age. Way back in 2006, I went to a doctor because my menstruation have not occurred for almost 4 months. The doctor did a trans-vaginal examination on me an saw blood clots in my uterus. He prescribed provera which allowed the blood to flow after I took it in 10 days. This year, I have my mens for almost 20 days. I went again to the same doctor and he did a trans-vaginal again. He prescribed me duphaston to stop the bleeding. But he told me that if in 5 to 7days, it did not stopped, he would do a "raspa" (dont know the English term.) I am afraid of it. What to do. I'm just praying that it would eventually stop by the meds. Is the doctor right?

The English term for "raspa" is D&C or otherwise known as Dilatation & Curettage. It is very common with few risks.

So, yes, in the end your doctor is correct.

There are some conditions that can occur in the uterus that cause irregular bleeding. Often medication is tried first to see if that helps. If not, a D & C (dilation and curettage) (raspa) may be necessary. It is a pretty common and fairly quick procedure. Did your doctor give you an idea of what may be causing the bleeding?
