You will have to call your local court house to find out fees and procedures. In Canada you can have a civil ceremony at the court house by making an appt. for the Justice of Peace. You definitely need to get a marriage certificate. However, in the US I believe you need to get blood tests, etc before.

Citizenship in either US or Canada is not a prerogrative and is actually a step to becoming a citizen if you are not already one.

What country are you from ?

Call your county courthouse and ask what you need to do to obtain a marriage license and what type of identification or other documentation is required from US citizens and non-US citizens to marry here.

Your county court can also advise you what is required to get married at the courthouse. You will need to schedle with them and pay a fee, and will have to have your marriage license prior to your wedding date. They can also answer questions like how many people you can bring with you, if you need to provide witnesses, etc. nobody on here can really answer this because it varies by jurisdiction.

You can get married here without being a citizen but the non-citizen still has to follow immigration rules to stay here.
