    Whirlpool GH7155XKB Microwave

My microwave has just stopped working after getting quite hot. I do not get any lights or electrical responses, It's deader than a door nail. I have replaced the fuse 3 times. Still no electric. It looks like a transformer might be burned out. The wires are crispy on the outbound side of the transformer. What am I facing at this point in time. Should I get a new one or call a service person? The unit is a 2004 model "GOLD" Whirlpool. Looks like it's named incorrectly. What shall I do?

Microwave ovens are so cheap today it's not worth fixing them. e.g. @HD, 1100 Watt 1.1 cubic ft Maytag or what ever brand it was, still made in China, Stainless Steel, $69.

I agree with the above! Why do people keep putting in expensive built-in microwaves? If it's over the stove, put in a shelf and an outlet.
