    Hi I have a john deere sxt38 riding mower I have replaced the pto clutch but know when I go pull the pto switch on the clutch will engauge and the mower deck will run for a few seconds but then stop. And then it will not do anything please help if you can thank you

    Hi,
    The first place I would look would be the frame ground for the engine and clutch. Then checking for power to the clutch that is continuous. PTO switches often become intermittent internally. The blue wires to the switch should have the power on them.

    I agree with Crigby ,
    But on some of the older units ,the clutches you had to set the air gap between the plates
