Zoning for a home based business
Hi,I was wondering how likely it is to get a permitt to start a home based resale store?

Probably not very likely. A retail store involves customers traffic etc that is not appropriate for a residential area.

No, at least not in my area, a home business is not allowed to be a store and not allowed to have customers who come in.

I don't know where you are located however in the U.S. areas are zoned for different things such as industrial, residential, business, etc.

Agreed, unless your 'resale' is online, I doubt any town anywhere will allow this in a residential zone.
If you are on a main street, you might be mixed commerical/residential.
But even if you got the town permission, your retail space would then have to comply with state requirements.
All you have to do is ask the town. Start with zoning. If parking consists of your driveway, I wouldn't even bother.

If you live in an area with a R zoning-residential, you will most likely only be allowed to have an online business, no customer traffic etc.
