How long does dry rot take to form
Dry Rot forms very quickly it is afungus so it needs moisture to reveal it's self. You should have the problem inspected because there could be a leak of some kind that is the cause for the rot. Do not sit on this problem because it will only get bigger and more expensive to fix.Quote:

Dry rot forms in many surfaces and you did not mention what surface you have. Yellow pine can start dry rot in a few weeks while pressure treated lumber could go for years. In any event, like iksanta said, you must eliminate the source of moisture first and the kill the fungus.
