I just found out that I am almost 8 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy was unplanned as BC failed. I am on the shot so I didn't know as no period with this form of BC. I am concerned as I have been drinking moderatley to heavy 2-3 times a week for past 2 months. I am so concernned Ive harmed my baby. What are the chances of this? I do not believe in abortion however do not want to force my child on any health issues or abnomalties.

Please don't beat yourself up over this. As long as you abstain from this point forward everything should be fine.

The dangers come with continued drinking during pregnancy. Many, many women drink during the early weeks before finding out that they are pregnant.

Just make sure that you take your prenatal vitamins daily, eat well, avoid alcohol and tobacco, and get plenty of rest.

You should be fine, just stop the drinking now, and if you smoke stop that for sure.
