Last period was April 7th. Had brownish spotting a week before my period was due along with PMS symptoms, My period was due May 4th still no period. Took a home pregnancy test came back negative. Is it too early for me to make an appointment with my doctor for a blood test?

You certainly can if you would like to, but often they will just do a urine test in the office first anyway. Because a period can be off now and then, it is sometimes suggested to just wait and see what happens in the next several weeks.

Your period might just be late this cycle, or you might skip it altogether. Certainly try another home test if no period in another week. If still negative, wait and see what happens when you would expect your period next month.
