With the ac on all day

We would need to know more about the A/C unit.

That and more about the size , output and location of the panels. In most residential apps this is not going to happen

I will agree with ballengerb that this is most likely not going to happen.

It isn't just the cost of the solar panels, you need an inverter to make AC and then wiring and a transfer switch and it would not be cost effective.
