Hey, So I've been really good at nails now for a couple years, and its recently gotten even better because I'm learning nail art. So, a bunch of friends keep asking me to do their nails, but my question is, is it rude to charge them? I mean I'm thinking like 4 bucks. Let me know what you think

If you are actually licensed to do nails, and work in a place where you do nails, then no, it's not rude to charge, but ask them to come to your work so that it's not you charging but the business you work for.

If you're paying for the nail polish to paint their nails, then no, it's not rude to charge for the supplies or ask them to bring their own supplies.

If you're an amateur and they pay for the nailpolish, then I would consider it rude. You're getting experience by doing their nails, you're not out any money, and they're friends. I'm sure they do things for you too.

I do woodworking, and I'm a painter. If a friend asks for one of my tables, or one of my paintings, it's free, and I pay for the supplies. That's what friends do.

But it's up to you. Your friends will likely consider it not only rude, but in poor taste, but only you can know how they'll react. If the $4 is worth the risk of losing a friendship, then ask. :)

This kind of thing can always be awkward. Maybe make flyers with your number on them and give them to the friends that are interested. Also put on the flyer your prices.

Depending on where you live, this could be illegal if you are not certified or licensed to do this.

Oh well I'd be paying for the supplies, and if its for one of our dances or something I think it would be appropriate. Thanks though! I mean, I think it would only be fair. I am taking my time to do it.
