We got a half German Shepherd half pit bull we had him for 2 months now. He is 3 months old right now, he is so bad all day everyday. He always bitting our hands our legs everywhere, he still isent potty trained, because we don't know how to teach him. He is just so hard headed that he won't learn. The only thing that he know's how to do is sit. We almost took him back 4 or 5 times but my girlfriend told her mom that she didn't want to so her mom said okay. So we stayed with him but there is no way to teach him how to be have. The only thing that we have done is spank him butt and put him in the kitchen and told no bad lyric and just leave him in there. Also he bits me and my girlfriend we have nothing but cuts on our body's cause the way he play's and we tell him no and he still won't listen to any of us. We don't know what to do he is just so horrible he's is such a bad dog. He also rips everything or anything he get's his teeth on we can't even leave stuff on the couch or chair's or he will get it and tear that up too. If we take it away he will find something else to chew on, he has so many toys that he would rather bit other stuff. We always yell at him when he bits or doing something he is not suppose to do. What do we do we can't control him at all?

Please stop hitting this poor dog and yelling at him! It's not his fault the people in his life aren't doing what they are supposed to be doing!

So you got your dog at 1 month old? Dogs need to stay with their moms until they are at least 8 weeks old to learn the proper behavior and socialization. That is the first problem.

Secondly. You are saying the dog is thick headed and can't learn. By your attitude you are setting your dog up for failure. Try changing your attitude and you may see a difference.

Also the poor dog is confused on who his owners are as you keep trying to give the dog back. Poor little guy.

The dog is ripping things up as that is what puppies do. They chew.

First step. Immediately after he wakes up he goes outside for potty breaks. When he does go outside you praise praise praise. When he has an accident in the house you clean it up and put him outside. NO HITTING OR YELLING. After eating he goes outside same thing praise praise praise when he does his business outside. He is still learning what to do so you have to watch him.
As far as the control goes you need to control your anger not the dog. A angry person will not help a dog at all!
Has your dog been to the vet for his needles and check ups? Have you looked into puppy classes? Have you been walking your dog EVERYDAY for exercise to burn off the puppy energy?

One of the problems with your dog is he left the pack way too early. If you got him at 4 weeks, he needs to learn proper socialization from other pups as well as a tolerant older dog. Between 4 weeks to 8 weeks is when pups learn their bite inhibition. I am surprised he survived being weaned this young to be honest.

When your pup bites, make a sharp cry and say NO. Get up and walk away. Because puppies are such social creatures the ignore technique is very effective. Give it about a minute or so and then return with an appropriate bite toy. Bite toys are important to have as puppies will teeth just like human babies. Lots of Nyla bones and kongs are ideal.

If your pup doesn't respond well to you turning your back on him, get a shake can or a loud horn. When he starts to nip, use your one word command of "NO" and then shake the can or blow the horn.

Remember, that certain games will encourage your pup to bite. Rough housing is a HUGE NO-NO! Treat and play with your dog as you would expect him to act. Remember puppies like human babies are products of their environment. For the time being tug-of-war games should be nixed as should chase and tackle games. Your dog needs to see you as the alpha. Also getting your dog to jump and snap for food should be discouraged. This not only effects his behavior but is hard on his joints and muscles as well.

Now comes my usual pitch. Obedience classes are a great help. It not only teaches you how to provide structure for your pup but it's a great bonding experience. One thing I HIGHLY suggest is for you to enroll your pup in puppy socialization classes as soon as possible. Remember, nothing in life is free, if you want a well adjusted dog, you have to work for it. And yes owning dogs costs money.

Most of all, please stop spanking and yelling at the pup. He doesn't understand what you are doing. All he is seeing is you are hitting him for him being a puppy. He doesn't know the difference. He only knows how to be a puppy. It's your job to teach him how to act.

The advice above is great but I just wanted to add (and bring on the reddies) REHOME the puppy now, before you wreck it.

It's pretty obvious you do not understand dogs, and a headstrong mix like this needs some with experience to train them.

The puppy is 3 months old, this is pretty much normal behavior for any 3 month old pup but just in that one paragraph you have demonstrated that you do not have the knowledge or the patience to deal with it.

If you do want a dog I would suggest getting an adult dog that is already trained and to enroll in obedience classes, not so much to train the dog, but so YOU can learn the basics of dog care.

Biting is a puppy thing. The fact that you don't know how to teach him isn't his fault. If you didn't take the time to learn how to raise a dog before you got one, that's your fault. He's a dog. He only knows what he's taught. You're supposed to be smarter then that.

So your girlfriend wants the dog but doesn't want to do the work to make him into a good dog. Too bad you didn't follow your gut and return him one of the 4 to 5 times that you wanted to. He'd be better off somewhere else.

There is a way to teach him, you're just not willing to learn how to do it. Too lazy? Too stubborn? It's not the dog, it's you.

You spank him and yell at him and think that will work? This is not a human being, he's a dog. When you spank a dog all the dog understands is that you're an angry creature that hits. When you yell all it does is scare him. He doesn't understand that you're yelling because he bit you or because he peed on the floor. He was never taught any different, so how the heck is he supposed to know that you're yelling about that?

If you and I were sitting down together and I said "Gumba goomba ba" what would that mean to you? Would that make you react in a certain way? Would you get up and get me a drink, or food? Would you change the channel on the TV? Would it illicit any response? Probably not. Why? Because you don't know what it means. To be fair, it doesn't mean anything. But, when you say no to your dog, you may as well be saying "gumba goomba ba". He's never been taught that biting is bad. He doesn't know what the word no means. It's just noise, said loudly and probably followed by a spanking. Are you getting it yet?

He's not a bad dog. You're bad owners. A dog is only as good as his owners. If you won't put in the work, he'll continue acting like this. He has to be taught what's expected of him. Taught calmly, consistently, without yelling and without hitting. As long as you're bad owners, he'll be a "bad" dog.

First of all, the only dog you can't train is a dead dog. Every dog, especially puppies, can be taught something. Some dogs make you work for it, others don't. It just depends on how much time you WANT to spend with your dog.

You got him too young. That is why he is destructive and a mess. His mama never taught him anything. His brothers and sisters didn't get to teach him how to be a dog. This was where you fell. Maybe you should have taken him back and let him be with his brothers and sisters.

The only mammal to blame on this post is yourself, girlfriend and her mom. You three fell down on the job and ruined this dog. People like you really piss me off... You don't deserve a dog let alone a puppy that could be considered a rescue.

I really have no training secrets that I want to offer. You need to re-home this dog asap before all the damage you created is permanent.

Go purchase a stuffed dog. They are absolutely perfect in every way.. House trained, crate trained, leash trained, doesn't destroy the house, extra cuddly, doesn't complain and a very cheap food bill! Perfect dog for your situation.. Good ol Fluffy
