Removed supporting wall - please give advice re: property assessment?
Hello,
I am considering purchasing a century-old property in which a load-bearing wall between the living room and dining room on the first floor has been removed. I have been told that the second floor is bowing as a result, but I do not have any measurement of how much it is bowing. My understanding is that a new supporting wall can be inserted where the previous one was, but am concerned about how much damage may have been done to the overall structure (not that there is any obvious damage) and how much this type of construction would (roughly) cost? Any advice on this would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks so much.
