How much should I charge to clean a 1000 sq/ft medical office in NYC
Hi I have to give a quote to clean a 1000 sq/ft medical office in NYC. There is 1 office, 5 treatment rooms, a large reception/waiting area, two glass door and glass front window to business, 2 1/2 bathrooms and carpeted stairs. The office is mostly carpeted except bathrooms which are tiled. The client is requesting weekly cleaning once a week. We are to provide all cleaning products and equipment.

This estimate cannot be taken lightly. If there are treatment rooms then there is hazardous waste to deal with. Does this office have proper areas for harzardous waste, i.e. blood waste, dressings, syringes. Nope, I wouldn't go there with a ten foot pole given what is out there and being treated in a medical facility.

Cleaning of products and equipment is another issue. Do they have an autoclave to sterilize equipment that you will have to use, because their own technicians should be doing this on a daily basis.

I agree with Tick -- Tick. If you have no experience in cleaning medical you are a risk to their staff, patients and yourself.

For more info go to the OSHA website pertaining to hospital and clinic housekeeping... your jaw will drop.

Could be this one place is trying to cut corners in expenses by trying to get their facility cleaned by unsupersived staff.

Any time that a health-care service asks for less than every-night cleaning I would not recommend it to anyone (period)

I have turned down business simply because of this. They are supposed to be medical professionals. They know nothing about pathogens, germs, cross contamination?

    I wonder...
