I had my hair bleached months ago and it a lot of it broke off and fell out. I have a section of hair that is basically nonexistent. Its about an inch long, after three months of growth. Also, I had side swept bangs and a lot of it broke off as well, making it look simply awful. I had it cut short yesterday to get as much of the broken and split ends took care as possible and my new hair dresser told me that I COULD dye it darker to hide how much is broken off and the darker color would help it blend in better and not be as noticeable. Well, I did that and it turned out JET BLACK and I was going for medium brown... which would be my natural color. I don't want to put anything else on it for fear of ALL of it falling out. What products could I use to help lighten it up some so it doesn't look so dark? AND, What can I put on it to help repair how dry and damaged it is?

I had such soft, long brown hair and now its short, dry and black :( I just want my hair color and texture the way it was.
