Hello all,

I need to replace the hot surface ignitor for my gas furnace burner 58sta110-k-10116.

Question 1> What is the part number?

Question 2> When I install this new part, should I remove the old one with the mounter and then install the new on the mounter or I should directly remove the broken old hot surface ignitor only?

I saw some people remove the ignitor+mounter first, followed by replacing the ignitor.

However, I don't know for my model, what is the best practice?

LH33ZS004 is the part # for the only HSI that Carrier & Bryant use. Handle it as you would an egg (very fragile!) and don't touch the element with your bare hands. If the ignitor bracket clips into the burner box (older style), great care must be taken to avoid breaking the bracket. If the mounting bracket attaches to the burner box with a screw (newer style), remove the screw to take out the ignitor/bracket assembly. Make sure the gasket is positioned correctly when re-installing. Air leakage around the ignitor can create problems with ignition and/or flame carry-over.

Question 2> Based on the image I gave you, may you take me what is the best way to replace the HSI?

Oops, I had forgotten about that one. That is the NEWEST style. I even carry one on my service truck, but I haven't had to replace one yet. If your unit is similar to the pic you attached, it is not a sealed-combustion unit, so no gasket issues. Remove screw #1 first, then change the ignitor. As I said before, handle it like an egg & don't touch the element (black part).
