How many ton is my tempstar 5000 model ch5530vkd1
I am getting ready to add on an additional 300 sq ft and want to know if it can handle the load.

Your almost adding a ton of cooling and heat load to your system if not more. I don't over size my systems one ton on instalations for future use. Not knowing the size and load of the system that's in your house I would say you will be under sized by 12000 BTU.
