    Send sick child to school
Should a child go to school if they have diarrhea?

How old is the child? Will the school allow the child to leave the room whenever the child wants to leave? Other symptoms?

She is 13 and the teachers usually don't let the children out of the room.

The last thing she needs is to have an accident in school. Does she want to go to school? Like Judy wondered, are there other symptoms of something?

Took her to the doctor, found out she has poison ivy. Not sure if that's what is causing it. She's also having bad headaches and stomachaches.

It sounds like she needs an oatmeal bath for the itching, lots of water, and lots of sleep. Not school.

There's something else going on. Has anyone else been sick in your family or among her friends?

No, your child would likely be quite uncomfortable, and there is no way to know if the cause is viral. The school would not want your daughter to be around other students.

The three main reasons we send students home are fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.
