    Lie detector test
I asked my husband if he would be willing to take a lie detector test---his response was "no".. Does this mean he could be hiding some things from me? Should I be concerned? This was mentioned before he told me about an encounter with another woman 1 year ago--he just told me 1 week ago...

Hard to say what his reasons are. He came clean to you about his "encounter"--does that mean he slept with her or what happened?

If my partner asked me to take a lie detector test, I would be saying "no" too. Not because I have anything to hide, but because it's insulting to be asked.

Circumstantially, however, you might be well within reason to request that he take a test. I do question why you can't just use his confession as an opportunity for open communication?

What is it that you expect to learn from a lie detector test? They're not very reliable. A better approach would be to work on communicating with your husband, possibly even marriage counseling.

Why is this in pregnancy and motherhood anyway? Is there a pregnancy involved in this situation?

And I'd be insulted too if I was asked to take a lie detector test by someone I was in a relationship with.

Is the other woman pregnant? Is that why you posted this in the pregnancy forum?

And I would refuse any "lie detector" test if anyone wanted me to take one, since they are not nearly 100 percent reliable and often give false or questionable answers.

That is the reason they have not been accepted in criminal court in the US.

So now tell us the issue, was he with this person before you and he stated dating ?

Is your husband pregnant? Why is this posted in the pregnancy section?
