    Brown discharge
I am 3 weeks late on my cycle and I have been having brown discharge for 5 days. When I do an internet search it says it is a sign of pregnancy or it could be an ectopic pregnancy. I took 2 HPT's the first week and then another this week and they were all negative. What do you think?

I think you are not pregnant. You missed a period for whatever reason (and there are lots of normal reasons to miss a period) and now your body is thinking of having the next one a bit early.

Three pregnancy tests are unlikely to be wrong. Even an ectopic pregnancy will produce pregnancy hormones, enough to register on a test.

Thanks, I went to my doctor today and she said that it is old blood and it might just be my cycle.

My first pregnancy a positive didn't show up for like 3 weeks after my missed period. The brown discharge could possibly be implantation, but shouldn't have lasted that long. But, I'd definitely take another test. It's very possible you're pregnant. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about an ectopic pregnancy, it can happen but unlikely unless your medical history or your body has a problem. Plus, stress if you are pregnant is not good this early in pregnancy... trust me.

The discharge lasted about a week then I got my period for another week, now I am about half way through my cycle and I am having brown discharge about 1-2 times a day for about 2 days then none for 2 days and then 1 spot yesterday and today. UGH!

Brown discharge is more common then you may think. This sounds like you're just having a few off cycles, but of course, if you're having sex, then pregnancy is always a possibility.

If you had a normal cycle then I wouldn't be too worried that you're pregnant. If you are concerned, try a pregnancy test. That's really the only way to now for sure.
