    Periods
Is it normal to bleed for up to 8 days? Does it pose a health problem if toward the last days the periods are brown in colour like very old blood? Can it cause an infection?

There are people that bleed up to 7 days. Near the end of the period as far as I know it is normal for the last days to be dryer blood. If pads are not changed regularly then yes there is a chanch of infection. As long as you keep your area clean there should be no worries for an infection.

Sometimes women do have infections and there are ways to prevent them but they sometimes show up anyway. What your describing does not sound like there is anything wrong.

If after hearing other peoples answers. Just for your mind to be put at ease. It would not hurt to bring up these concerns with your doctor.
