    Should someone with discoid lupus avoid all tropical areas due to the sun?
    Avoiding Hawaii, Panama, Philippines??

    Someone with discoid Lupus should avoid sun exposure EVERYWHERE - and that includes his/her own backyard. Patient should also wear a strong sunblock, possibly something recommended by his/her Physician.
