18 HP Craftsman 1000 turns over very slowly but won't start. Took the plug out and it turns over normal speed, so the starter seems fine. No visible spark on the plug when out of the engine - magneto/coil problem?

Did you get the battery load tested? That starter can still be bad. Trust me... I had identical problems last year with a 20 hp Craftsman.
