    Is compulsive lying hereditary?
I want to know if compulsive lying is hereditary? My child is 7 yrs old and is lying about small and big things. Her father is the same way.

No, it's not hereditary but if she sees the behavior in her father she may very well be imitating it.

Is she seeing someone for this problem?

Here is a pretty good article that deals with lying within the age-group of your daughter. Believe this will put it in a little clearer perspective.
