5 year old home with a 50 gal American gas hot water heater. The hot water recirculating system has an Armstrong Astro 1/2" pump that is making noise. It sounds like a bearing is worn out. Not sure if it can be rebuilt or needs to be replaced.

Most new recirc pumps don't have accessible bearings. Pump replacement is your best, and most likely only option.

Could the 5 year old pump still be under warranty. Not sure why it gave out so early...
