KY. Neighbor's pool partially on my land
KY. Neighbor's pool partially on my land.
Last year I told my neibor it was OK to put a blow-up pool 24'/4'deep on part of my land. They took it down over the winter. Yesterday I overheard them talking about putting the pool back up & adding a fence around it, lights, and a burn-pit. I told them I thought they were moving the pool this year and I don't want it on my land. Do not want to be held responsible if some-one gets hurt. They responded who would know if its your land anyway I have home-owners, the land is already cleared no grass. I said the grass will grow back, I don't want to get sewed if someone drowns, or gets hurt ---you need to move it. WHAT DO I DO IF THEY DON'T LISTEN?

Have the property line surveyed and put up a cheap, split rail fence (or some other low cost fence) as close to the property line as your local laws allow. ASAP.

Putting a fence up on someone else's land is called adverse possession. And if you allow it it's a step towards them claiming it.

If someone put a fence clearly on my land... I'd rip it down. If someone set something on my land I'd remove it. If someone tried to build something on my land I'd sue them.

Its easier to deal with the situation BEFORE it becomes a situation. Just tell them NO... and call the police if they do it anyway.

Short version.. its YOUR land... don't let them. Stop them BEFORE they do.

    Agreed!
Mark the line with stakes for now.
Don't get wimpy with these neighbors, just say no.

I hesitate to add to what others have written but it would "seam" that this "thread" is "tailor"-made for fun.

Sorry to "needle" you, but I can't help myself.
