How to remove a sink under granite installed through plywood cutout?
My contractor installed a new stainless steele sink undermount - my counter top is granite. They first laid plywood then cut a hole for the sink then put the counter on. (no clips under sink - just plywood showing) Now my sink is rusting (4 months old!) and I want to replace it - they say there is no way to remove the sink - is that true? Can't the plywood be cut from underneath? Please help - Sterling will give me another sink if I can return this one.

Your contractor did a p*** poor job of installing the sink. That is not how its done, a grove is cut into the granite and a clip is siliconed into the grove. I would not use this same guy for the fix, get a few new guys to look at it and give you 3 estimates. Not sure what glue theyr used but I would attach it with a flush cutting Fein multimaster Fein FMM-250-START Mltmstr Pwrtool STARTKIT

And what's with a stainless sink rusting? Even the cheapest rating shouldn't. I wouldn't accept a replacement, but a refund.

The Multimaster can cut granite? (I have a $45 knockoff)

No, the multimaster can flush cut the glue between the wood and the granite. I have a $100 Dremel version.

Thanks for the advice - I agree that the contractor is lacking in many more ways than this unfortunately for me. I was surprised by the rust too - I thought I was upgrading to steel from my 60yr old porcelain but I'm not convinced now! I'll give one more a try at least the next time it'll be easier to remove- thanks again
