My hampton bay remote is old an I brought a replacement remote the old number is L3HMAY97FAN-HDand the new one is L3h2010FAN-HD how do I reset this remote

An Electrician would likely remove the canopy on the fan, check the DIP switch settings and match the new remote.
It would be nice if you had the old broken one, remove the cover to see the small switches and match the codes on the new remote.
