    Gas Fireplace
I have a gas/electic ventless fireplace in one of my rental units that is working fine for the first 20-30 minutes... but then it goes out. The pilot light has to be lit again before it will turn back on. The home is 7 years old and the fireplace was installed during construction. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Thermocoupler, The shaft that rests near the pilot flame when heated produces a voltage that allows gas to flow. When these go bad they won't produce the voltage anymore cutting out the gas flow. A Safety device.

Thank you for the info. I have been looking for this part online with no luck what so ever. The manufacturer is SFC and the model number is KVF-38RMN. Do you have any idea where I can find this part?

Remove the old one and take it to any hardware store, I always bought a spare because the go bad when its COLD, any universal will work. Just a matter of using the adaptors for a snug install. Let me know
