What is the movie about a guy who killed women and kept a record of their name?

Adding to my previous question. The man was like a business man. Before he would kill them he would put plastic down I guess so that blood won't get all over the place. When he kills them he would write their name down and put it in this little box that had slots in it. One scene when these two girls was about to go to bed I believe. He was in the bed with one across from the other. She believed they were doing stuff and they were making a little too much noise. So she was jokingly telling them to hush it down a little. But really he was murdering her, and she didn't even no. But she figure that out until the next day. Also one scene when he was about to murder this girl she was able to excape before he did. (Not too sure if this was the girl in the same room when the other girl was murdered). But at the end I believe he pleaded insanity.
