My water was fine but my hotwater heater was leaking and needed to be replaced,I had a plumber replace it and since I have had low water pressure low hot water and rusty water,the plumber came back and said he flushed the faucets and it was much improved,I was at work when he did this and he left this comment on a note on the door,I still have low pressure,rusty water(I never had before) and hot water is slow to heat up can you help?

Since the new water heater was installed I have rusty water,slow to heat,and low water pressure.I told this to the plumber and he came while I was at work and said he flushed the faucets and it was much improved in a note he left. I have low pressure rusty water and low pressure-The day before I had the hot water heater installed the city came and put in a new meter and the meter man suggested his friend as a plumber who coincidently worked for the city too on his off work hours-the man is willing to come back is there something I should have him check that he hasn't checked already?

Is the issue strictly related to hot water or cold water as well?

Not knowing right now, I'd check that the main water supply is fully opened.. could be closed down since the meter was changed out.

Next thing I would do is to continue purging the lines of sediment... run faucets for an additional 5 minutes... see if that clears things.

The next thing I would recommend is to remove all the AERATORS at the ends of all the faucets... good chance these got clogged up when the sediment got disturbed.

By the way, did the "plumber" pull a permit on this water heater and did an inspector come by to inspect his work? If not, check with the plumber... code requires a permit for this job!
