    What country, what state?
In the US there are state programs for paying a relative for care, but you will find a lot of red tape to go through. In general it's best to keep your job and use the Medicare home care coverage for visiting nurses, assistants, and therapists, because you would have to be an RN to be paid if RN care is deemed to be needed. Once there is documented need for 24 hour care, AND she can't afford a nursing home, after selling her home (!), you can try through social services to see about being paid. It will be a state program, which covers those unable to pay, unlike Medicare.
Many states are working more and more on stay in your own home plans, both for happy clients and to save money, so please check into this with your own state by asking your town social worker or doctor's office. Join an Alzheimer's support group, which even rural areas have. Look in the paper or ask around.
