    Help
    Hello.

I am curious to know how long codeine will stay in my system. I'm sad to say that I recently relapsed after quitting pain pills cold turkey. Now, I have a wonderful job opportunity and a drug screen is required for the job. I usually take anywhere from 3-4 loretabs a day and have been off them for a full 24 hours now. Of course I'm feeling all of the withdrawal symptoms already. If anyone can help me out here that would be fantastic. I'm about 5'7" and weigh around 120 lbs. I know my metabolism is high and might affect how quickly I can get the drugs out of my system. Any advise would be wonderful. Thank you all!

Lortab comes in 2.5 through 10 mg/500 as I recall. Which pills were you taking? Also, do you know the type of drug test administered by the employer?

    DrBill,

I was either taking 2.5 or 5.5. It really varied according to what I could find. I'm not positive as to what kind of test they are administering.

Lortab (hydrocodone and acetamenophin) is a semi-synthetic opioid. This drug contains very little of the natural opiates, thebaine and codeine. First regardless of the type of test administered, all of the drug should be excreted within 3-4 days. Not knowing how long you have taken the Lortabs or dosage, add a day to that.

Hydrocodone, Lortab generally isn't detected in a standard urine analysis that has a cutoff of 2000 ng for morphine. There are specific tests with a cutoff of 100 ng that can detect the semi-synthetics but that is a special or extended panel.

I'll stop there as your results will turn on when you are scheduled for the test as well as the type test administered.
