I have a maytag mav6057aww and without warning it will not agitate and smells like burning rubber. Please tell me this is an easy fix ;)!

Could you be a little more explanatory. Do you mean that you're not even using the machine, it's empty, no water or clothes and it just starts agitating? That would be a really unusual problem. Would almost have to mean that the motor is shorting out internally, but I've never heard of this problem.
