Do you mean $2^{x+2}=4^{-x}$ ?

You have $2^{x}+2=4^{-x}$ written.

Yes I wrote it wrong not to used to wrighting math on the PC

Use the indices rule:

$a^{x+y} = a^x\ .\ a^y$

$a^{-b} = \frac{1}{a^b}$

$a^{xy} = (a^x)^y$

You might want to do a substitution to make things easier. Something like... $y = 2^x$
