I have a kenmore Elite HE4 - Smartheat Quietpak9 dryer. It at times but seems to be more often stops drying after only 1-2 minutes if drying on any cycle and error code E1 comes up. I think we need to replace the thermistor but we are looking for a online service manual but can't find one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Why not try Sears appliance parts stores?

The drier is clogged with dirt and thermister is shutting it off to keep from causing a fire. All safeties on a drier are aimed at preventing a fire which used to be caused by driers more than any other cause. Disassemble drier and clean it well. Wash out parts, chisel and scrape out deposits which are like concrete and vacuum out motor. Clean out blower fan, also. Be thorough with it and even check out exhaust vent which is probably clogged, as well. When finished your drier will work like new, or you did not do the job well enough. I would change the belt if it is very old, they are cheap, about $5.00 and will save another disassembly. DrTom4444
