    Driving to Canada
I am becoming a truck driver and the company that I am going to work for drives all 48 plus Canada and Mexico, will I need a passport for boarder crossing in either country?

While I have not studied the new laws it appears that yes not to leave but to come back into the US you will be needing it. I understand it started on the international flights first but it will be effecting all entry from my understanding

Thank you for your input. I guess I will have to look into getting a passport soon then.

    QUEBALL,

You do not need a passport to cross the border until June 30, 2009.

However, that deadline could be moved up to as early as Jan 1, 2008.

But for now, you are OK.

    Note:
Those dates are in reference to crossing the border by land (car, truck, etc.)

If you are to cross the border by air or sea, you do need a passport.
