I got charged tonight at walmart for shoplifting under a $100 . And my question is I'm in Tennessee what will the judge charge me with and will I get time out of this or probation .im hoping charges can be dropped or dismissed caue this is my very first time doing anything lk this cause I have never been in trouble .

For a first time pettit theft charge, you will probably get off on probation, and restitution, with early termination upon restitution. The bad news is that the restitution is usually a lot more than what you were intending to steal in the first place. They can make you pay the store, the court costs, and the cost of probation. Stealing is not cheap. In this day and age, there are cameras everywhere. You may think that nobody is watching, but the cameras capture everything you do inside a store.
