Fire started at the property next door. Tenants Have the same Lnd lord. Landlord says he has no Insurance. Fire dept. say's I need to start legal form for cost o property damage. I also need to start legal action on landlord. Property Damage valued over 35000.00 dollars of my own property value. Land lord is Lary Hall of Yakima, Wa.

What kind of form would that be? For the FD records? Ok. So?

The FD is telling you this too? Don't take legal advise from a policeman or a fireman. ;)

Just because the fire started on premises owned by your LL, doesn't make your LL liable. Was the fire started through LL's negligent? Was the neighboring tenant negligent in starting the fire? Neither of these are a given. I recently litigated a case in which the LL didn't have insurance, the cause of the fire was questionable, and it can get very complicated.

Do you not have renter's insurance either? Does the tenant of the property where the fire started have it?

Agree with AK. Even if the LL had insurance it would not be for your property, he insures his building. If you want insurance for your personal property you need to buy it. If the FD determine who started the fire you can sue them if they were negligent.
