Are replacment bearings aval. For ge cond fan mtr 5kcp39bg ?
I have a carrier 3 1/2 ton unit using a 1/6hp ge condenser fan motor model # 5kcp39bg-v665 s. last night i heard a loud hmmm and vibration when the unit came on. I checked the capacitor (i replaced it late last season) it wasn't hot or burned. I found the contact point switch was not engaging and the circuit board had a flashing red light (i assume is mil) if i hold in the switch to override, the compressor will start and sounds normal. But a low hmmm was coming from the condenser fan motor which was barley moving at all (maybe 2 rpms at best) motor was too hot to touch and by grabbing the blade it took a lot of force to move by hand. I pulled the motor and tore down (i'm a mechanic by trade, over 30 yrs) upper bearing was seized, bottom bearing close behind, found at least 1/32 fresh scars in upper sleeve bearing. i've never seen bearings like this before (round cover, plastic retainer, center sleeve w/ cooling slat, triangular piece of spring steel, a grey piece of wadding (possibly oil soaked and i assume to remove static electricity caused by the friction within the bearing) and packed with some sort of grease, the grease was dry to the touch and crumbled like damp salt and looked like day old cream of wheat (i would also like to know if this is normal or if its reg grease that's been severely cooked by heat)
Anyway... i looked on internet but struck out. I need to know if anyone knows if replacement bearings are aval. For this unit and if so where can i get them a.s.a.p. i live in las vegas and temps are already around 86-92 and climbing every day, so i need help fast. Thank you all, in advance.
