    Can I get away?
So I'm a minor in New Jersey and I was convicted of a 3rd degree offense and put on the Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program, and I was wondering how long I would need to wait if I ditched it altogether and fled to a different state. I'm 16 now and my probation is supposed to go for 2 years, would the state stop caring once the time that I was actually supposed to be on it goes up? Would a cop in a different state have a warrant for my arrest, or just New Jersey police (my P.O said a warrant would go out but he wasn't specific about where.)

    Hello Teen:

Once a warrant is put out, it lasts forever. Since you absconded, your sentence STOPPED and won't end until the warrant is satisfied, even if you're an adult when they finally catch you.

Besides, cops LOVE to bust people. You don't think they'll cut YOU any slack, do you?? You sure don't know cops very well.
