    What to say?
    Hi,guys

Can anyone advice me on the matter please: my daughter is going through the difficult times with her boyfriend of 3 years: probably separation for good. She is very emotionally fragile in general and at this moment she is extremely stressed and I would like tomorrow to stay at home with her and 'just be together'.

The one problem is-I cannot think what to say to my manager at work. I would like to take carers leave but I don't want to say the truth to my manager about the real reason I want to take this carers leave otherwise there will be lots of talks at work. I took myself too many days of sickness already in the last year, so one more day of my sickness she will not accept..

Also, it is bad omen to lie to my manager that my daughter is ill and I need to look after her...
Any ideas what to say to my manager tomorrow please?( I have to ring her )

Why not simply tell her that your daughter has not been feeling well, which is the truth, and that she needs you to be home with her tomorrow?

All you need to say is that there is a family crisis. It happens all the time, and can involve anything from throwing up to meeting teachers to deaths in the family.

It is not that easy: our manager will be asking for the details of what exactly happened.

If pressed for more information, tell her it is of a personal nature. She does not need, nor should she be asking, for personal details.
