I am a student and I filed a 1040A return instead of 1040NR. How do I correct this? Also, is the India-US tax treaty still valid for claiming 5450 as exemption? Is that in addition to thr 5700 standard exemption?

You need to amend the return using Form 1040X, then attached properly-prepared Forms 1040NR and 8843 to the Form 1040X.
