I'm 17 years old about to be 18 July third I got put on probation (PINS) for not being home on time with my xboyfriend. THen I violated probation by going to his house. It is now April 3rd and I'm supposed to get off July 3rd I know I'm not going to get off now but I'm just wondering what to expect because I shoplifted 2 shirts from a store and they caught me. Since I'm already on probation am I going to get sent away, since its my second violation? I passed all my drug tests and everything I'm a good kid I just can't believe this happened.

Well, let's see - you think you're a good kid BUT you've shoplifted at least once and violated probation twice. You obviously didn't take what the Judge said terribly seriously. Your parents cannot control you (that's what a PINS is about) and they've turned whatever problems there are over to the Court.

Are you in NY? If so, yes, you will be placed in some sort of care. Perhaps foster care, perhaps a half way house, perhaps a home for troubled teens.

It is your PO's choice to suggest that you be sentenced or continued on probation - but the Judge has the final say. Juvenile Court in NY is tough.

How does your "ex boyfriend" figure into this? Is he charged with something like parental interference for dating a minor?

A PINS Petition isn't granted lightly. I suspect that there's more to this story.

Sorry, sounds like a poor choice of a boyfriend, and stealing, does not sound like any good kid to me, if you think this is good, you need to find a new dictionary.

First is this in Juv court or adult court,
Is the theft charges in adult court and probation violation in Juv ?
Makes a big difference.

If this is Juv court, most likely you will be put on a much stricter probation,
If this is adult, my guess jail time

If it's NY PINS is Family (Juvenile) Court. It's granted when the parents/system can no longer handle the juvenile. If the boyfriend is part of the Order and she is sneaking around to see him, yes, she will go to some sort of lock down and the boyfriend could very well be arrested for interference (parental or legal).
