    High HCG levels
I found out I am pregnant, but I started bleeding more than spotting. I went to the emergency room last night and they said it was unknow why I was bleeding but they think I'm only 3 weeks pregnant... however doc. Said my hcg level is 4000, not 400, 4000. I looked up what it should be around 3-4 weeks on web and says 300-400... why are mine SO EXREMELY HIGH?

Hi mimi, your high HCG level indicates pregnancy. This will decrease as your pregnancy goes on. It is nothing to worry about. We women are all different and the levels you saw were generic, or what it is supposed to be. You are different, so don't worry.

It is too bad that the doctor in ER couldn't explain what is happening; just remember every time you see your doctor, if you have any concerns, please ask questions so you remain informed as your pregnancy continues.

Here is a website that explains HCG levels during pregnancy; I hope you can access it for your information; otherwise you will have to cut and paste the url.

    www.pregnancy-calendars.net/hcg.aspx

I hope you will hear from our nurse J_9 who is in obstetrics; who is better informed regarding your issues.

    Good luck and god bless

thank you tickle! That site helped... im suppose to go back into the er tomorrow to see if my levels doubled, if not I might be miscarrying =( I'm so worried about my bleeding issue! Its more than spotting but less then a period and its red! That is not a good sign... unfortunately I miscarried last year too, do you know anyone who bled a little less than a period with no cramping and had a normal pregnancy?
