    Stepchildrens rights for deased stepfaether of 40 years?
    My stepfather married my mom when i was 4 my brother was 5 sister was 6 now iam 44 my stepdad died last week my mom died 5years ago we were all very close.my mom and stepfather had one dauthger together she is now 34 he has 4 grown son out of town .we didn't get anything from the house in wich they lived for many years my little sister said he is my dad not yours.wow

    As a step-child, you don't have any inheritance rights unless you were left something in his will.

    Thank you! He was a retired Army man, so I thought sense he had us so long that we were just like his kids.

    Do you know there is a will?

    As your step-sister. If there is a will, and if she won't give you a copy, you could also get a copy from the probate court, if and when the will is filed in probate court.

    Also we need to know the state this is happening in. States usually determine the rights your talking about.
