    Noisy Stomach Old Cat
My cat is 18 years old and her stomach is making he most strange sounds, gurgling and rumbling continuously. She is not vomiting and is hungry all the time. She's lost weight and very subdued. Any ideas?

Does she hang over her water dish even when she's not drinking? Is she still using her litter box faithfully?

Can you get her to a vet, if necessary?

I have a 19 y/o cat, and my son's cat is 17, so our thoughts are with you. Other cat people on this site will add comments and ideas.

She drinks a lot of water but doesn't hang over her dish and she still goes outside to do her business. Thanks wondergirl

Older cats can develop thyroid problems or diabetes. Her symptoms could indicate either, but the stomach rumbling has me puzzled.

I have a fifteen year old cat with exactly the same symptoms to your cats, I took him to a vets about 5 months ago and paid over £100 for all sorts of tests only to be told every thing was normal. I know it isn't but cannot afford to keep going back to be told nothing wrong. He still catches mice and rabbits(wild) and do not know which way to go next. Did you manage to resolve your cat or still searching..

I had a cat that had the same problem... I heard it was somehow to kidney problems and/or diabetes. I "adopted" him as he was a stray. He just passed away on the 8th of August.. I was going to bring him to the vet to have him euthanized the next day... but he passed away the day before. He stopped eating the day before but still drinking and walking around, but he went fast. Hope you were able to help your cat... Not sure if treatment is available for cats like this for this problem. Let me know if you still have the cat and if the vet has "fixed" his problem as I have another cat and do not want this to happen to her. Thanks
